Jimbaran Bay, Bali, December 2012… InterContinental Bali Resort is delighted to announce that it has received one emerald medal in Bali’s prestigious Tri Hita Karana Awards. The medal was presented in an official ceremony that took place at Art Centre, Denpasar on 7th December 2012.
Tri Hita Karana (THK) is a Balinese Hindu philosophy that embodies the belief that physical and spiritual wellbeing is achieved through a balanced existence. This concept extends to maintaining a harmonies relationship between man, the environment and God Almighty.
The Tri Hita Karana Awards is a local initiative established in 2000 by the Bali Travel News, a leading tourism publication under the banner of Bali Post. The awards identify and acknowledge local hotels, resorts and villas on an annual basis that have adhered to the social and spiritual principles of Tri Hita Karana.
InterContinental Bali Resort was recognised for having implemented many eco-friendly practices that minimise its impact on surrounding environment. It also manages an inspiring Corporate Social Responsibility (CRS) programme that focuses on ‘giving back’ to the local community. In addition, the Resort has gone to great lengths to develop a professional and ethically uplifting work place that enables staff members to deliver genuine Balinese hospitality and service.
Tri Hita Karana is a unique concept that defines the island of Bali and InterContinental Bali Resort is extremely proud to be a recipient of these two awards.
