InterContinental Bali Resort is delighted to announce the recent appointment of Mr. Michel Chertouh as General Manager. He came from the IHG property in West Hanoi, Vietnam and is a seasoned hotelier with over 25 years experience with InterContinental Hotels Group and has French nationality.
Michel began his hospitality career following French national service. Initially in Food & Beverage he quickly rose through the company, working in Paris, London, Miami and Barcelona.
At age 33 Michel, was appointed General Manager in Brazil where he ran several flagship properties. Further moves within the company saw him reposition and revitalize a resort and casino in the Dutch Caribbean and open several resorts in Spain. He then returned to Brazil, as General Manager at InterContinental Rio de Janeiro.
He is a highly motivated hospitality leader with a solid understanding of the company’s practices and expectations. Michel describes his management style as “action-oriented and accessible”. He also believes that open communication and developing healthy relationships within the workplace drives results.
Michel speaks French, English, Spanish and Portuguese, however, he is also looking forward to adding Bahasa Indonesia to his growing list of language skills during his time at InterContinental Bali Resort. Michel Says that he has “inherited an iconic property, close to the hearts of the team, and will look forward to continuing to grow its position in Bali”
